Lake Villa Guatemala was founded in November 2011 as Lake Atitlan’s only fully vegan destination, offering workshops and personal retreats. In 2015, we began offering the villa as a vacation rental. Our goal is to provide the highest quality experience of Lake Atitlan to our guests. See what previous guests have to say!

Your Hosts

Traci and Mark, your hosts at Lake Villa GuatemalaYour hosts at Lake Villa Guatemala are Traci and Mark.

Traci is originally from California, USA. She retired in 2009 from a career in training and technical communication with a Fortune 100 company. She spent two years visiting Guatemala and assisting with spiritual workshops before bringing the dream of Lake Villa Guatemala to life in 2011.

Traci’s passions include sharing the splendor of Lake Atitlán, singing, and preparing plant-based meals that nourish body and soul. She’s still a geek, though, and does freelance technical projects.

Traci formerly managed The Real Food Channel: daily videos about food and health, the food industry, and regaining health by changing your diet. She is the admin of the Lake Atitlan Vegan Community Facebook group. She created the Lake Atitlan Directory for all Lake Atitlan residents and guests. She regularly blogs at, and manages websites for nonprofits, small businesses, and artists (TS Digital Services).

Mark is originally from Ohio, USA. He first visited Lake Atitlan in 1978, and has lived here since 1981. He has traveled extensively throughout Guatemala and Latin America, and has a wealth of knowledge about the area.

Mark is an accomplished musician; he is most often heard in Panajachel, Santiago Atitlan, and other towns around the lake playing guitar, bass, harmonica, flute, and as a vocalist. When not hosting guests, Traci joins Mark as a vocalist. We invite you to explore our music at
